Description
This is in Valley of Fire - a state park located in the Mojave Desert approximately an hour's drive northeast of the Las Vegas Strip. It is the oldest Nevada state park, and it's easy to see why they singled out for protection. The other-worldly beauty of the area is beyond compare.
The park was named for the magnificent red sandstone formations that were formed from great shifting sand dunes and can appear to be on fire when reflecting the sun's rays.
I was amazed at the number of delicate looking flowers that grow in this hot, unforgiving desert landscape.
