Description
Bowman Lake is in the northwestern portion of Glacier National Park in Montana. It is not commonly visited by most visitors to Glacier National Park, because it is located in one of the park's most remote areas.
This image was taken just after sunset, late in the fall, when the Tamarack Pines were in full color. These so-called “evergreens” are deciduous conifers, whose needles lose their chlorophyll, revealing yellow pigments before dropping to the ground. As you can see, even on cloudy days the trees appear to glow. They seem to almost be illuminated from within.
