Description
In 1875 this impressive building was built as a courthouse in Bannack, Montana, which was at the time the capital of the Montana Territory, before it became a state. In 1890 the building was purchased by Dr. John Christian Meade for $1,250 and turned it into a plush hotel. The hotel operated off and on until the 1940's. Sometime during its long history, the building was also used as a makeshift hospital, and manifestations of those who died are said to haunt the hotel to this day.

I love this image. The light coming through the windows and doors is just the right amount to make it dramatic.
